About us
Software that's actually worth building.
The Really Useful Company is a small independent studio. We exist for one reason: to make apps and software that earn their place on your device.
Our brief
Build apps and software that solve a genuine problem and are genuinely useful.
It sounds obvious, but it's the bar a surprising amount of software fails to clear. So it's the first question we ask of everything we make: is there a real problem here, and does this genuinely make it better? If the honest answer is no, we don't build it.
That brief shapes what we take on. Every project we ship starts with a specific, real-world frustration — finding the right domain or company, keeping on top of what school is sending home, understanding what's really happening on a chessboard, or getting IKEA furniture to your door the same day. Different problems, same test: it has to be genuinely useful, or it isn't worth doing.
Start with the problem
We only build when there's a real, specific problem worth solving — never features for their own sake.
Keep it genuinely useful
If it doesn't clearly make someone's day easier, it doesn't ship. Useful beats clever, every time.
Make it simple to use
Powerful under the hood, effortless on the surface — good software should feel obvious.
