Privacy notice
Last updated: 17 July 2026
The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and doesn't track you. The only personal information we ever receive is what you choose to send us — through the contact form or by email — and we use it solely to reply to you.
Who we are
This website is run by The Really Useful Company ("we"). You can reach us any time at hello@reallyusefulcompany.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive whatever you include — typically your name, email address and message. It arrives in our inbox as an ordinary email, we use it only to deal with your enquiry, and we keep the correspondence no longer than that takes. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to messages you send us.
That's the only personal information this site collects. It doesn't have accounts, sign-ups, newsletters or payments.
What we don't do
- No cookies — the site doesn't set any.
- No analytics or tracking of any kind.
- No advertising.
- We never sell or share your information for marketing.
Hosting and service providers
The site is served by Cloudflare, which — like any web host — processes visitors' IP addresses and request logs to deliver and secure the site. Contact-form messages are delivered to our inbox by Cloudflare's email routing service.
The wordmark font is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser requests the font files from Google's servers when the page loads (Google sees your IP address in that request, as with any file served from a third party).
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it — just email us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Our other sites
Our projects (such as Ask the Ferret, School Interactions, Really Useful Chess, IKEA Today, Sir Savings, Obsydra, Today Puzzle and School Ride) are separate services with their own privacy notices — check those sites for how they handle data.
Changes
If we change how this site handles personal information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
